FlashAcademy® has delighted to announce that we have been awarded a grant from Ufi VocTech Trust to enhance its ESOL platform, designed to support communication in the workplace. The funding will help build on our existing platform to better support both employees and employers across the UK.
Helping skilled workers thrive
The new project aims to address challenges faced by skilled workers who do not speak English as their first language. Gaps in language knowledge can make it difficult to follow health and safety procedures, understand training or progress at work. This can also make it harder for businesses to get the best from a diverse workforce.
FlashAcademy® was one of just six organisations selected for Ufi’s VocTech Challenge grant. The funding will be used to develop an advanced, AI-powered platform that focuses on industry-specific language skills.
Introducing Leap
The new platform will help workers develop the vocabulary they need to succeed in their roles. Employers will be able to upload their own materials such as training documents and safety guides, which will then be turned into custom language learning resources.
This means teams can access relevant, job-specific learning without the need for internal English teaching expertise. The platform will be accessible on any device and is designed to fit easily into existing training programmes.

Development is already under way, with the team working closely with employers to ensure the platform fits real workplace needs. Testing will take place over the coming months to gather feedback and shape the final product.
