FlashAcademy® has been shortlisted in two categories at the Education Resources Awards (ERA) 2026, recognising its impact in supporting multilingual learners and helping schools use technology and AI to strengthen inclusive practice.
The platform has been shortlisted for:
- Primary Resource or Equipment – ICT
- AI Resource in Education
The Education Resources Awards celebrate excellence in educational resources, technology and services that support teaching and learning across the UK. Being shortlisted highlights solutions that demonstrate innovation, measurable impact in classrooms and meaningful support for teachers.
FlashAcademy® is an interactive EAL (English as an Additional Language) assessment and learning platform used by over 2,400 institutions worldwide, supporting more than 700,000 learners across 48 home languages. The platform helps schools identify language needs, track progress and support multilingual pupils to access the curriculum with confidence.
Supporting inclusion for multilingual learners
The shortlist in the Primary Resource or Equipment – ICT category recognises how FlashAcademy® helps schools create a structured approach to supporting pupils who speak English as an Additional Language.
Through adaptive digital assessments, curriculum-aligned learning pathways and teacher dashboards, schools can identify language needs early and monitor progress across listening, speaking, reading and writing. This gives teachers and leaders clearer insight into how multilingual learners are developing and where targeted support may be needed.
The platform is designed to support language development, help schools evidence inclusive practice and demonstrate progression for multilingual learners.
AI support to reduce teacher workload
FlashAcademy® has also been shortlisted in the AI Resource in Education category for its AI-assisted marking system, which helps teachers assess written responses quickly while maintaining professional oversight.
The AI marking model can recognise partially correct answers and identify patterns in common language misconceptions, giving teachers more precise insight into learner understanding. Teachers retain full visibility and control, ensuring the technology works alongside professional judgement rather than replacing it.
Across large volumes of pupil responses, this approach allows schools to turn individual classroom assessments into structured insights that support targeted teaching and whole-school visibility of language progression.
Demonstrating measurable impact
Schools using FlashAcademy® report significant improvements in both assessment efficiency and learner progress.
At The International School @ ParkCity Hanoi, implementing FlashAcademy® reduced annual assessment time from 424 hours to 68 hours, while doubling assessment frequency. The school also saw clear improvements in student progress and engagement, with 70% of learners progressing at least one grade.
By reducing administrative workload and improving access to actionable data, teachers have more time to focus on supporting learners directly.
Recognition for innovation in multilingual education
Being shortlisted in two categories reflects FlashAcademy®’s mission to help schools build inclusive environments where multilingual learners can thrive academically and socially.
For many pupils, developing confidence in English is about more than academic attainment. It enables participation in lessons, friendships in the playground and a stronger sense of belonging within school communities.
The winners of the Education Resources Awards 2026 will be announced later this year.
