We are proud to announce a donation of £1,000 to The Refugee and Migrant Centre (RMC) in the Midlands. The funds were raised through a successful auction we recently held at our old office.
The auction saw office items, ranging from the typical chairs and tables to a ping pong table and a giant TV, sold off to team members as the organisation shuttered their longstanding offices. This was a move in favour of providing their workforce with more flexible working opportunities, including working from home and from shared office spaces across the country.
The FlashAcademy® leadership team knew they wanted to ensure any remaining equipment didn’t end up in landfill and saw it as an opportunity to raise funds for a charity. They wanted to donate to an organisation that aligns with their own mission: to break down barriers for all held back by a language barrier – and that’s when they discovered RMC.
Veejay Lingiah, CEO, said, “Sustainability is a core value for our business, so when we decided to close our established office in favour of more flexible working options, we wanted to find a responsible and impactful way to repurpose our office items. Our team came up with the fantastic idea of holding an auction, creating a fun and engaging opportunity for everyone to participate. We chose to support the Refugee and Migrant Centre because of their incredible work providing essential support to refugees and migrants as they rebuild their lives. We’re proud that this initiative could contribute to their mission of fostering inclusion and opportunity for all.”.
